Blood, Shred, & Beers

What do a blood drive, shred day, and craft brewery have in common… you, our Partners.

On August 23, the Columbia Chamber is holding its first “Blood, Shred, & Beers” event at Steel Hands Brewing. This unique event includes a blood drive held by the American Red Cross, a complimentary Shred Day provided by Shred Monkeys, craft beer from Steel Hands, and discounts from local vendors. What better way to spend your Friday afternoon than to help others, get organized, and enjoy some networking with a cold beverage of choice? Come take advantage of a great opportunity to give blood and clean out your old documents in a safe way, free of charge.

Right now, the American Red Cross is in a state of emergency for lack of blood supply. Summer can be a difficult time for the Red Cross because of significant shortfalls in blood donations during the holidays when families often travel. It is crucial now to donate blood and help restore the Red Cross supply to the amount they need, and more. Your donation means a lot – just a single pint of donated blood can save up to three lives! Not only will your donation save others’ lives, but it will save you money too. Steel Hands is offering 15% off your tab for those who attempt to give blood, and vendors are offering discounts on their merchandise for attempted donation as well.

In addition to the Blood Drive, Shred Monkeys is offering a free shred day for all to use. This is the perfect time to declutter your home or office and remove all unwanted documents. Shredding ensures that your personal information stays secure and safe when cleaning out your files. You bring the paper and Shred Monkeys does the rest.

Blood, Shred, & Beers will be held on Friday, August 23 from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at Steel Hands Brewing, 2350 Foreman St., Cayce, SC 29033. This event is open to the public so bring your coworkers, family, and friends. It will be a fun-filled event that you can feel good about – making a tangible effort in saving lives, getting organized, and building connections with Chamber Partners and Columbia residents alike. We can’t wait to see you there!
