William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center - (803) 776-4000
The Dorn VA Medical Center is a dynamic, growing medical complex dedicated to providing the best possible treatment to more than 400,000 veterans who reside in South Carolina. Opening in 1932, the Medical Center currently has a 216-bed capacity and five community outpatient clinics located in Greenville, Florence, Rock Hill, Anderson, Orangeburg and Sumter. With a budget exceeding $148 million, this facility treats more than 47,000 veterans in 427,000 outpatient visits and 4,000 admissions. Dorn is part of an integrated service network with other VA Medical Centers in South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama. Through this collaboration, Dorn provides a full continuum of primary care and mental health services including internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, preventive medicine, ophthalmology and psychiatry. Women veterans increasingly find the Dorn VA Medical Center a quality facility for receiving personal attention for their healthcare needs.  Its affiliation with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine gives Dorn a rich academic learning environment for medical students, residents, and fellows. Dorn maintains a cooperative sharing agreement with the Department of Defense facilities in the Midlands. Dorn and Fort Jackson’s Moncrief Army Community Hospital jointly own an MRI facility on the Dorn campus.


Fairfield Memorial Hospital - (803) 635-5548
Fairfield Memorial is JCAHO accredited and is committed to providing quality health care. The hospital is founded on a sense of need and compassionate understanding of caring for the sick and injured. The hospital is strong in history but is clearly focused on the future; it has continually upgraded its technology by having not only state-of-the-art equipment, but a competent staff of caring professionals. Hospital services include laboratory; radiology (including CT scanning); nuclear medicine; surgery; out-patient surgery; physical, occupational, and speech therapy; a home health agency; and cardiac rehabilitation. As a convenience to the county’s citizens, Fairfield Memorial offers outpatient clinics in chemotherapy, podiatry, orthopedics, and ear/nose/throat (ENT).  Other services available include a 24-hour emergency room, dietary counseling and Lifeline (an emergency response system). FMH operates the county-wide Emergency Medical Services system and also a nonemergent ambulance service to offer transportation to nursing home residents and other citizens. FMH is committed to a county-wide health screening program which indicates to the community the hospital is interested in their health. These screenings include cholesterol, diabetes, blood pressure, Sickle Cell Anemia, and body mass indexing. All of these screenings are free to the public. The Fairfield Diabetic Initiative is located on the hospital campus and exists for the purpose of offering education classes to diabetics and their families. In partnership with its physicians and other regional health care providers, Fairfield Memorial Hospital will strive to continue to provide compassionate, quality health services to meet the needs of the citizens of Fairfield County.

Kershaw County Medical Center - (803) 432-4311
Kershaw County Medical Center is the hub of a multi-faceted healthcare delivery system that serves the residents of Kershaw County and surrounding communities. KCMC encompasses a 121-bed acute care facility, an 88-bed long-term care center, a Home Health/Hospice Agency, and The Health Resource Center located in Camden; two primary healthcare offices, The Healthcare Place at Elgin and The Healthcare Place at Bethune; and West Wateree Medical Complex located in Lugoff.  KCMC also operates the countywide emergency medical services system. The goal of KCMC is to provide quality, cost-effective primary and secondary healthcare services, including education and wellness activities. They believe that service to their patients, their families, and their communities deserves the best attitudes, efforts, and skills. They believe in the inherent dignity of those they serve and those with whom they work – this is demonstrated by treating patients with respect and compassion. KCMC is staffed full-time by more than 50 physicians. A full range of services are offered at the Medical Center including: Oncology, Cardiopulmonary, Discharge Planning, Emergency Services, Intensive Care, Laboratory, Pediatrics, Pharmacy, Radiology/Diagnostic, Rehabilitation, Orthopedics, Women’s Center, Outpatient Surgery, General Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Volunteer Services. Outside the Medical Center, West Wateree Medical Complex houses comprehensive rehabilitative services, lab, x-ray, mammography, and physician offices. The Health Resource Center operates a healthcare information library with resources for both healthcare professionals and individuals and provides community health education programs, exercise programs, and support groups.

Lexington Medical Center - (803) 791-2191
For nearly three decades, Lexington Medical Center has been the Midlands’  hospital of choice, offering the highest quality of nonprofit, primary and specialized acute healthcare in the region. Located at Highway 378 and I-26, LMC is within easy access to both urban and rural patients, providing ample parking, flexible visitation policies and all private rooms. LMC has extended its services throughout Lexington County with regional community medical centers in Chapin, Irmo, Swansea, Gilbert, Batesburg-Leesville and downtown Lexington.  Responding to the evolving healthcare concerns of the future, LMC continues to grow and improve to ensure the needs of one of the fastest growing counties in the state. Its facilities are designed to provide immediate treatment for minor illnesses and injuries at a site that may be more accessible than the main campus.  In addition to providing primary care, all community facilities have staffs that provide health education and preventive treatment. 
Lexington Medical Center also offers advanced cardiac, vascular and pulmonary rehabilitation, outpatient surgery, a state-of-the-art emergency department, outpatient surgery and diagnostics, radiation oncology, radiology, surgery, physical therapy and a host of community and business wellness programs.

Newberry County Memorial Hospital (NCMH) is licensed for 90 acute care beds and 12 sub-acute beds. It is fully accredited by JCAHO. With over 35 primary and specialty care physicians, NCMH offers a full range of community services, both inpatient and outpatient. These services include a wide array of surgical services: general and vascular, ENT, orthopedic, podiatry, OB/GYN and ophthalmology. Aggressive rehabilitation and wellness programs and the only Alzheimer’s Treatment Group in the Midlands illustrate a commitment to community health and well-being. NCMH recently completed an extensive $13. 4 million renovation and construction project that resulted in a convenient, progressive outpatient services mall on the first floor. Extensive equipment upgrades and additions were a part of this hallmark project, which supports continued efforts to provide exceptional healthcare with a personal touch…close to home.  The hospital is continuing its improvements and expansions with several ongoing and upcoming projects, including the building of a medical center in Little Mountain, renovation of the Medical/ Surgical Unit and New Beginnings (the birthing unit), and the implementation of a new, comprehensive computer system. Palmetto Health is South Carolina’s largest and most comprehensive integrated healthcare system consisting of Palmetto Health Richland and Palmetto Health Baptist in Columbia, and Palmetto Health Baptist Easley in the upstate. All three hospitals are highly respected and long-time members of their communities. Each year, the three hospitals treat nearly a half million patients, welcome more than 6,300 babies into the world, care for more than 3,000 cancer patients, treat more than 82,000 pediatric patients, make nearly 55,000 home care visits, and accommodate nearly 133,000 emergency visits. Sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine and a member of their Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine Health System (CSA Health System), Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals is known statewide for its high quality, compassionate care. The not-for-profit organization is licensed for 311 beds and is comprised of three facilities: Providence Hospital, Providence Heart Institute and Providence Hospital Northeast. Together, the faith-based hospitals employ more than 1,500 caring professionals. Providence Hospital, located in downtown Columbia, is a 247-bed hospital founded by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Augustine. The facility is best known for the expertise in cardiac care it provides through Providence Heart Institute, which serves as a nationally recognized referral center for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Providence Hospital Northeast is a 64-bed community hospital that includes a transitional care unit for newly discharged patients who require skilled nursing and rehabilitative care. Often referred to as South Carolina’s “heart hospital,” Providence Heart Institute has more than 25 years of experience in providing the best in cardiac care. Since the opening of the Heart Institute, its physicians and staff have performed more cardiovascular procedures than any medical team in the state. A recent $30 million expansion gives the hospital the additional space and services needed to accommodate the growing demands of the market. The Life Reach air medical transport service is the first hospital based, medical helicopter program in South Carolina. Since 1985, Life Reach has flown more than 10,000 missions and continues this valuable service today, transporting patients not only to Providence, but also to numerous other medical facilities all across our state. Cardiovascular care, however, is only one center of excellence at Providence. The physicians and staff also provide extraordinary care in a variety of other fields, including general surgery, orthopedics, internal medicine, ophthalmology, emergency medicine, nuclear medicine and related diagnostic services, maternity care, rehabilitation services, chronic wound treatment and occupational medicine.  Providence Hospital Northeast, a 64-bed community hospital located in northeast Richland County, was established in 1999 and includes a transitional care unit for patients who require skilled nursing and rehabilitative care.
