Annual
Gala & Auction
The Annual Gala & Auction is the Columbia Chamber’s largest
fundraisers. The event features recognized speakers, an overview
of the Chamber’s accomplishments for the year, installation of
the new chair of the Board of Directors and the presentation of
the Ambassador of the Year. The program also features an auction
with items from local businesses around the region. More than
1000 Chamber supports attended the 2010 Annual Gala.

Members of the Board of Advisors are the
Chamber’s top investors who provide significant leadership and
financial resources to advance the Chamber’s initiatives. |

select volunteers and staff members who meet to discuss the issues that
effect Chamber membership. |

Attendees at this monthly luncheon gained insight from a variety
of speakers including Tim Moore, SocialCrush: Maj. Gen. James
Milano, Ft. Jackson and Derek Walker, brown and browner
advertizing. With more than 1,000 members in attendance this
year, it was a great way to expand one’s network. |

This monthly breakfast meeting brings together more than 150
chamber members for the opportunity to network and meet the
area’s key professionals. |

this event has quickly become one of our most popular networking

The Chamber Diplomats are a group of
knowledgeable volunteers serving in a year-round effort as
customer service representatives of the Greater Columbia Chamber
of Commerce, as well as acting as liaisons between the chamber
staff, Board of Directors and our members. |

Friends of Our Forces
The Chamber works diligently to encourage a healthy
and strong relationship between our armed forces at Fort Jackson and
the business community in the Greater Columbia area. We encourage
ALL businesses to offer discounts to military personnel and their
families as a way to show our appreciation and give back to the
soldiers. |

Golf
Tournament
One of the Chamber’s largest fundraisers, the 2011 annual
Columbia Chamber golf tournament was held at Wildwood Country
Club on May 4 & 5. A record number of 300 golfers participated
in the event, with over 20 companies displayed throughout the
golf course. |

Information
Technology Council
The Columbia Information Technology Council
is an assemblage of technology leaders promoting Columbia as a
desirable location for IT companies. Drawing upon their
combined knowledge and experience, the ITC identifies,
cultivates and promotes those characteristics that IT businesses
require for efficient and successful operations. |

Leadership
Columbia Class
Leadership Columbia, a program created and
managed by the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, has
celebrated close to 1,700 graduates since its inception in
1973. The 59 member Class of 2011 engaged in a 10-month program
including monthly learning sessions, class retreat, group
project and other enrichment activities. |

Columbia Alumni Association strives to provide meaningful, enriching
and diverse programs that will appeal to a wide variety of Leadership
Columbia graduates in order to keep them engaged in the community,

Teacher
Recognition Breakfast
Each year the Greater Columbia Chamber of
Commerce partners with the Midlands Education and Business
Alliance (MEBA) to host the Annual Teacher Recognition
Breakfast, where Teachers’ of the Year for each of the regional
school districts are honored. This year, more than 250
educators were recognized from 5 school districts.

Volunteers from member companies can earn
exciting rewards while developing new resources for the Chamber in the
Total Resource Campaign, conducted August through November each year.
