This event honors the best and the brightest in the Columbia Region technology community.  The annual Palmetto Pillar Awards are presented to the leaders and innovators in technology from the Columbia Information Technology Council.  For sponsorship information please contact Kendall Johnson at 803.733.1138.

The following awards are given:
 

Non-profit (501(c)) website/technology advancements

The Non-profit award recognizes a company or organization for the application or development of innovative technology-based projects and programs which impacts or assists a non-profit company or organization

 

·                     Green Technology Initiatives

The Green Technology Initiatives award recognizes a company or organization for the application or development of green technology-based projects and programs.

 

·                     Commitment to Columbia

 The Commitment to Columbia award recognizes a company or organization for their dedication and commitment to Columbia in making Columbia a “Famously Hot” technology region.

 

·                     New Initiatives involving Technology

The New Initiatives involving Technology award recognizes a company, organization or individual for the application or development of innovative and new technology-based projects and programs.

 

·                     Student Achievement

The Student Achievement Award honors a student who exhibits a commitment to the advancement of technology through his/her technology-oriented contributions.

 

·                     Leading edge technology innovation/ Trailblazers

The Trailblazer award recognizes a company, organization or individual for the best use of emerging technologies in the region.

 

·                     Technology use in Education/ Government

The Technology in Education/Government Award recognizes a company or organization for the application or development of innovative technology-based projects and programs that impact government or education and related operations.

 

·                     Start-up ventures

The Start-up Ventures award recognizes a small business entity for the innovative application or development of a technology-based product, process or service.

 

·                     Open-source applications and development

The Open-source award recognizes a company or organization for the application or development of open-source products or technologies.

 

·                     Promoting the region / Visionaries

The Visionaries award is open to all nominees and is awarded to the outfit, individual, or entity that shows overall stellar improvement, technology utilization, or achievement.
