Northeast Area Council
The Northeast area has
received their own area council of the Greater Columbia Chamber of
Commerce due to the rapid growth of business there. Until now businesses didn’t have a central voice to address
challenges unique to this still developing area. The new council will help give Northeast businesses the support
they need to grow.
The Northeast Area
council is a return to an old idea. Ten years ago the previous area councils had begun to diminish in
their importance to the community and the Chamber. The decision was made to combine them back into one large group. Now, the new Northeast Area Council will be an umbrella for
businesses in the Northeast core- and beyond. The new council will not compete with the Greater Columbia
Chamber group making sure that meetings will be held on different days
so Northeast group members can still network within the larger council.
With the formation of
the northeast Area Council, there will now be additional opportunities
for networking through your Chamber membership! In addition to the 12 breakfasts that the Greater Columbia
Chamber does there will be 12 more breakfasts located in the Northeast
Area at WildeWood Country Club Club, starting at 7:30am, on the last
Thursday of every month. This is an excellent opportunity to network with more than
250 business people each month! Also,
your Business@Sunrise card is good for the Northeast and the downtown
breakfasts. Not only can
you attend both Business@Sunrise but as well as both Business After Hours! The Northeast will host their Business After Hours on the third Tuesday of
every month at various locations starting at 5:30pm.
