Track Your Legislator’s
Votes
The South Carolina
Chamber of Commerce is
introducing a new
interactive,
Internet-based program
that enables users to
track state
legislation. Called
eMobilize, its
capabilities include a
legislative
vote-tracking measure,
by which Chamber members
and the general public
can find legislator
voting records on every
business related bill
introduced in the House
and Senate.
eMobilize is designed to
enable users to do the
following:
• Track Votes
- All business-related
votes cast by each
legislator is recorded
on the eMobilize site
for users to access.
• Track bills
- Track bills that most
affect their businesses,
including its movement
through subcommittees,
committees, and the full
body.
• Track bills by the
issue
- Follow issue-specific
bills.
• Elected officials
- Locate any elected
official, including all
contact information, by
name and district.
• Report cards
- Each legislator is
assigned a report card,
regarding votes cast for
business-related
legislation. Users can
view each legislator’s
report card.
• Alerts
- The Chamber will alert
its members regarding
important legislative
issues.
One of only five
organizations in the
nation to utilize this
program, eMobilize is
said to bring more
accountability to the
General Assembly’s
decision-making process,
as well as provide a
more easily accessible
means by which users can
access their House or
Senate member’s voting
record.
