Have you attended the Chamber Issues Committee lately?
The Issues Committee is a forum for addressing local, regional, and federal issues facing the business community. Topics presented to the group can be informational or controversial in nature. When the Chamber is asked to take a formal position on an issue, the topic is first vetted by this committee and then sent with a recommendation to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
The next meeting will be held January 4th with a presentation of the 2011 Legislative Agenda by Darrell Scott and Otis Rawl of the South Carolina State Chamber, an update on Workers’ Compensation and Tort Reform legislation from Cam Crawford of the South Carolina Civil Justice Coalition and an overview of the Midlands Chambers’ Coalition by Randy Halfacre of the Greater Lexington Chamber of Commerce.
The Issues Committee is open to the full membership and meets the first Tuesday of every month at 8:00 am in the Palmetto Room at the Chamber. For more information, please contact Courtney Herring at (803) 733-1148.
